The Board of Trustees of the Mantario circuit of the Methodist Church, Saskatchewan Conference, wrote to the Department of the Interior requesting the grant of the two acres to be used by the church for cemetery purposes. 1915-Feb-22: What's the delay?
Zachariah Leach wrote to the Department of the Interior to say that the Secretary of the Board of Trustees was no longer there and no one knows if he paid the $10 asked for. They want to know what's going on, since they've buried 3 people already and we want to fence the area and plant trees.
The Department of the Interior replied that they did receive the $10 and the patent for the land is in course of preparation. Actually, the patent had been granted a month prior, but the paperwork is slow in filing, probabably because of the World War. |
